As part of the activities of the “Code of Conduct for Judges and Lawyers” project, implemented with financial support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), the Investigator Organization for Supporting Rule of Law and Democracy (IOL), in coordination with the Kurdistan Bar Association, conducted a three-day Training of Trainers (TOT) course in Erbil, with the participation of a group of lawyers from various governorates of the Kurdistan Region.
The training aimed to strengthen the capacities of participating lawyers in monitoring violations, preparing monitoring reports, and submitting them to the relevant authorities. It also provided an opportunity to review the key provisions and articles of the Code of Conduct for Judges and the Code of Conduct for Lawyers, both of which had previously been approved by the Presidency of the Judicial Council and the Kurdistan Bar Association.
Throughout the training, emphasis was placed on the importance of adhering to professional principles and standards, as well as strengthening the role of lawyers in monitoring, documenting, and reporting violations to the relevant authorities.
