With the aim of raising students’ legal and social awareness of issues related to early marriage, a legal awareness session was held for students of Aala Girls’ High School in 2024.
The activity was organized as part of the “Reducing Early Marriage” project by the Investigator Organization for Supporting Rule of Law and Democracy (IOL), in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), with financial support from UK Aid, and in coordination with the Ministry of Education – Erbil General Directorate of Education.
The session covered several key legal and social aspects related to early marriage, with discussions and an exchange of views focusing on the implications of the issue and the importance of strengthening students’ legal awareness.
The activity forms part of a series of awareness-raising sessions and activities under the project, which aim to raise awareness and strengthen students’ understanding of issues related to early marriage in schools across the Kurdistan Region.
