Legal Training Course for Educational Counselors Held in Sulaymaniyah

As part of the Reducing the Phenomenon of Early Marriage project, from 9–10 September 2024, the Investigator Organization for Supporting Rule of Law and Democracy (IOL), in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with financial support from the Government of the United Kingdom – UK Aid, organized a two-day legal training course for educational counselors in Sulaymaniyah.

The training was held under the title “Legal Training to Strengthen the Legal, Social, and Psychological Knowledge of Educational Counselors in Sulaymaniyah on Reducing the Phenomenon of Early Marriage.” The training emphasized the important and direct role of educational counselors in raising awareness among school students and strengthening their knowledge of the risks and impacts of early marriage.

The training was delivered by two experienced trainers, Dr. Asos Namiq and Dr. Bakhtyar Kamal Talabany. At the conclusion of the course, certificates of participation were presented to the participants.
