Continuation of the Legal Awareness Training Program for Religious Leaders under the Early Marriage Reduction Project

Within the framework of the "Reducing Early Marriage (Under the Age of 18) in the Kurdistan Region" project, IOL, Investigator Organization for supporting role of law and Democracy (IOL), in partnership with the UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with financial support from the AICS Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), continued its series of legal awareness training courses for religious leaders by organizing another session on 4 November 2023 in the Penjwen District.
The training aimed to strengthen the legal awareness of religious leaders and emphasize the importance of refraining from conducting marriage contracts outside the Personal Status Courts, as part of broader efforts to reduce the prevalence of early marriage in the Kurdistan Region and promote compliance with the applicable legal framework.
