Conducting a Legal Awareness Session for Students of Hawler Girls' High School

Within the framework of the “Reducing Early Marriage” project, the Investigator Organization for Supporting the Rule of Law and Democracy (IOL), in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with financial support from UK-Aid, conducted a legal awareness session for students of Hawler Girls' High School on 2 February 2025.
The session was conducted in coordination with the Ministry of Education – Erbil General Directorate of Education, with the aim of strengthening students’ legal and social awareness and increasing their understanding of the risks and consequences of early marriage.
The session forms part of the Organization’s ongoing activities to reduce the phenomenon of early marriage, with similar awareness sessions planned to continue in a larger number of schools across the Kurdistan Region in the future.
