The Role of Forensic Medicine in Investigating Sexual Violence Crimes
A training session with title of “The Role of Forensic Medicine in Investigating Sexual Violence Crimes” was implemented for two days on 28-29/8/2024 as part of the “Providing Legal Services to Survivors of Sexual Violence” project, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and with financial support from UK Aid. The session was hosted in Sulaymaniyah, The lecture was presented by (Dr. Barzan Muhammad Ali Dartash/ Advisor and Director of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Sulaymaniyah), with the participation of (15) judicial investigators and police investigation officers. The course focused on the role of forensic medicine in investigating crimes of sexual violence, how to collect evidence in such crimes, the types of physical injuries, in addition to drug addiction and its dangers.
