First Practical Step Toward Implementing Iraq’s National Strategy for the Rule of Law

The First Practical Step Towards Implementing the National Strategy for the Rule of Law
Within the framework of the “Building Peace and Security in Iraq” project, on December 11 and 12, 2025, the Investigator Organization, in partnership with the Iraqi Ministry of Justice, in coordination with the IRC, and with financial support from UKaid, conducted a workshop for members and representatives of the Ministry of Justice in Baghdad.
During the workshop, supervised by international expert Mohammed Tameemee, the “Ministry of Justice Implementation Plan” for the years 2025–2029 was drafted. Participants focused on implementation mechanisms, resource allocation, and setting evaluation indicators to ensure that the steps are practical and fully aligned with the National Strategy and the roadmap for the next five years.
This activity is considered the first practical step of the Ministry of Justice’s initiatives within the framework of the strategy. The outcomes of this workshop lay a solid foundation for future stages and will assist other ministries involved in the strategy to move towards implementation. This serves as a preliminary step paving the way for a more stable and sovereign country.
