Introduction
Investigator Organization for the Rule of Law (I.O.L) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the rule of law, supporting judicial independence, and promoting legal and human rights reforms in line with international standards.
I.O.L operates under registration no. (3030 K), issued on May 26, 2016, by the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG).
Job Description / Assignment
Within the framework of the project “Reducing the Phenomena of Child Marriage in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI)”, funded by UNFPA and financially supported by UK Aid, I.O.L is seeking qualified Facilitators to deliver a total of 22 legal awareness-raising sessions across high schools and secondary schools in Erbil Governorate. The sessions will take place between January 15 and March 31, 2025.
The activity includes the following:
- 18 Legal Awareness Sessions for high school and secondary school students
- 4 Legal Awareness Sessions for parents of high school and secondary school students
Both individual facilitators and training/service-providing institutes are welcome to apply.
I.O.L will provide logistical coordination with schools, stationery, session setup, and scheduling. Facilitators are responsible for their own transportation and may include transportation costs in their financial offer.
The Facilitator will be responsible for:
- Preparing session agendas
- Developing legal awareness materials tailored to the topic of child marriage and relevant laws
- Delivering participatory and youth-friendly awareness sessions
Description of Tasks
- Prepare and tailor legal awareness content related to child marriage, its consequences, and the applicable legal framework
- Submit session materials and methodology to I.O.L for approval prior to delivery
- Deliver the 22 sessions in the assigned schools based on the approved schedule
Provide a final summary report including session outcomes, challenges, and recommendations - All materials must be submitted to I.O.L at least one week before the first session
Sessions must be delivered in Kurdish.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Requested Profile:
- Bachelor’s or degree in Law, Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, or another relevant field
- Minimum 3 years of experience delivering trainings or awareness sessions
- Demonstrated experience working with adolescents or school communities
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Ability to develop simple, engaging awareness materials
- Professional working knowledge of Kurdish (mandatory); Arabic and English are an asset
- Strong coordination and teamwork skills
- Understanding of youth engagement and group dynamics
